Post Midi
Hello,

I have a jands Vista S1 with touchscreen monitor.
But i also have a Akai APC40 for VJ'ing.
Now is my question, can you control your presets, groups or whatever (cue i know) with midi?
It would be nice if i can control my video and light with 1 button.
If i change my colors in my video to red that my lights also go to red.

Thanks in advance!

Niels

Post Re: Midi
you could build the information you want into cue lists and control it via midi that way if your video is being triggered by Vista.

Unfortunately the only midi note functions at the current time are related to cue lists- play, release and toggle.

Hi

Have you thought about doing it the other way around? While Vistas MIDI-in is rubbish (for obvious reasons), it still has the ability to send Art-Net-out. Most VJ software has the ability to receive Art-Net data, and in a worst case scenario, you can convert the art-net out to MIDI.

There is a way to configure RGB/CMY faders through cue control (viewtopic.php?f=21&t=2308&p=10328). If your VJ software isn't included in the Vista library (arKaos/Resolume/...) you can make your own fixture with specified channels for it (the VJ software) in the fixture editor. That way you can control the behaviour/fx/color of the show through vista, and still trigger clips and such from the APC.
