Post Programming
Need some advice about programming. I typically do programming for theatrical production. I have a job where the client has requested I program a bunch of different looks. Static wall washes and ballyhoo's. They can just pick the looks they like. How should I record and store these looks?

There are a few ways you could do this.

One way is to create a single cue cuelist for each of the looks. What you can do with this method is create a quickpicker that is all the cues and even set the quickpicker setting to "go" on select. I would also insert a command into every cue to "Release All Except" so only one cue(list) would play at a time.

Another way is to put all of the looks into a single cuelist and have them use the Playback screen to play whichever look (cue) they want to see. You would just have to name them all accordingly and maybe even use the notes field to further describe the cues. If you were to do it this way I would suggest making every cue a block cue so the look you record is the same one you will get no matter how they jump around.

Finally, static looks could easily be done as presets however ballys are much better done as cues.

If you program it all as cues in one cuelist, record snapshots as a quick way to jump between the looks.
Then you can just make the snapshot touchscreen size in a picker window that takes up the whole screen. It means that's all the client see's and they aren't included to mess with other things.
